Troop 175 items Sept 14 2016

Good Day Scouts and Scouters,

Just passing out our next Troop agenda, important dates, as well a request from the Scout office (at the very end).

 

Car Wash Fund Raiser – Sunday September 25th

  • Runs from 11:00 – 1:00 @ the Dugout in Hillsdale shopping center on Fairlawn Rd.
  • Since the next Troop meeting is not until September 19th.  Please email Mr. Mara if you are planning on attending ASAP.
  • Money will be split between all Scouts who work the event (deposited into their Scout account)
  • Wear you class “B” shirts if you have one.

Sky Zone Trip and Campout – October 7th – 9th 

 

PLC Meeting Monday October 10th

  • All Scouts in a leadership position should make every effort to attend (assistant patrol leaders only need to attend if the patrol leaders cannot)
  • Scout meeting 7:00 – 8:00
  • Committee meeting 8:00 – 9:00

 

Bonus Campout Fall Camporee - October 14th – 16th

  • Camp Cost $14.00
  • Grub and bus money TBD
  • More information to come soon

Boy Scout Day at the Zoo – Sunday October 23rd

 

Horseback Riding Campout November 4th – 6th

  • Camping fee is $60.00 (exact change in an envelope with your name on it) due 10/24/16
  • Grub money is $12.00 (exact change in an envelope with your name on it) due 10/24/16
  • Bus money is $12.00 (exact change in an envelope with your name on it) due 10/24/16
  • Arrive at FLC on 11/4 at 5:30 pm sharp and depart at 6:00
  • Return to FLC 11/6 at noon
  • Class “A” uniform for bus ride.

Opening ceremony.

We couldn’t go to the creek to clean up because it was muddy and rainy.

Last day to order  t-shirts.

We went through the backpack check for Spanish Peaks.

Meeting:  April 26, 2010

Opening ceremony.

Camp Alexander payment is due by Saturday.

K-State Merit Badge Conference.  Be at the church at 6:00 in the morning and bring extra money for McDonalds afterwards.

Memorial Day flag placement.  You will go out to the cemetery put flags out for the Veterans.  You can earn community service hours.  It is from 8:00-12:00.

Spanish Peaks backpacking in the Colorado mountains. We will meet an Indian tribe, learn their culture, and live how they do.  You have to have your backpack checked out before the trip.  The trip is scheduled right before Camp Alexander.  You can also start the camping merit badge on this trip.

Opening ceremony.

Mr. Krug said the Pancake Feed raised over $700.00 Saturday, February 13.

The church is using our griddle and will have a pancake feed Friday, 19 February from 5:30-7:30.You can earn 2 community service hours.

Mr. Miller talked about the ski trip. Leave Saturday morning at 8:00. We check in our gear and people who need lessons can sign up, they are a ½ hour long. You will buy your own lunch, about $10.00. Pizza is for dinner and is included in the fee.

Mr. Elsbernd talked about scouting for food (Scouts distribute food bags and collect the next week; and you go to the warehouse to separate). You can also earn community service hours.

Next Monday is PLC; if you are in a leadership position, you should attend. If you are not, you can attend if you want, but you don’t have to.

Camp Alexander is scheduled this summer in the Colorado mountains. You’ll have lots of fun.

Mr. Krug talked about backpacking in Colorado. Meeting scheduled February 28.

Mr. Voight talked about the Katy Trail; bike for three days in March. Younger Scouts can work on knife skills and basic camping skills.

Advancements and merit badges were given out. Matt & Jared received First Class, Scott received Life.

Mr. Elsbernd asked Scouters to help with upcoming camping trips. Contact him if you can help.

Opening ceremony.

Winter 2010 Court of Honor. Welcome was done by senior patrol leader Ben Elsbernd. He introduced the leaders. Friends of Scouting did a presentation to raise money for Scouts that couldn’t afford camps. They raised $1,200.00 dollars tonight. Ben and Jacob handed out merit badges and advancements.

Mr. Elsbernd talked about Camp Alexander. If you haven’t paid your deposit, you don’t have a spot saved; so make sure you sign up and get your money in.

Mr. Krug talked about Philmont 2011, money is due by next week for those that have signed up. There is a hiking trip the week before Camp Alexander, sign up if you are interested.

Scout Sunday is February 7, come and support the church.

Scoutmaster’s minute. Mr. Elsbernd talked about certain dates. 8 February is the 100th anniversary of Scouting.

Opening ceremony.

Troop elections were postponed until January’s meeting on the 4th.

Mrs. Murray talked the Washburn merit badge conference on Feb 6. Every scout should get the merit badge they signed up for.

Mr. Miller said that we will go skiing all day and then come back the same day at the Snow Creek Camp out, Feb 20.

Mr. Elsbernd talked about the Klondike Derby, Jan 29.

And finally Mr. McKenzie talked about scouting for food on Feb 27.
